On 4th of May, the third government led by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov took an oath in Parliament, was voted into office and the ministers assumed their duties.

An increase in the minimum wage by BGN 50 next year, thus becoming BGN 510 is the most likely option, according to Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov.

In addition, the cabinet is considering an exact rate for raising teachers' salaries. The new Minister of Education Krassimir Valchev promised a two-fold increase of the teachers' salaries in the four-year term.

The new Social Minister, Bisser Petkov, said that a priority in his area would be the reform in the system of disabled peoples’ pensions for a fairer distribution of public resources. It is expected that it will be ready in the beginning of 2018. According to the new minister, through legislative changes, it will be possible to recalculate the pensions allocated before 2010.

Transport Minister Nikolai Nankov announced that the names of the new management of the Road Infrastructure Agency will be announced on 5th of May.

The Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU is a priority for the government.
