Bourgas airport on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast restored operations shortly after midday on 18 July. The airport was temporarily closed due to an incident in which a plane from Brno, Czech Republic, went off the runway earlier today after landing.
There were 178 passengers on board. They were immediately evacuated. No one has been injured or harmed, including the 6 crew members.
Flight operations at Bourgas airport were temporarily suspended because of the incident.
During the summer months, the airport processes more than 150 flights a day. On 18 July, 236 aircrafts are scheduled to land and take off from the airport. Only 3 flights were cancelled today.
