The former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior is the new Director of Bulgaria’s Customs Agency, the Minister of Finance, Vladislav Goranov, said on 10th of May.
The outgoing Director of the Customs Agency, Rosalia Dimitrova, returns to her previous post of director in the customs administration, at her insistence.
Goranov said that Georgi Kostov had an extensive experience in fighting crime in its various forms. “His rich operational experience and his knowledge as Chief Secretary of the Ministry of interior will help us to even more effectively combat all forms of abuse related to budget revenues,” Goranov said.
Goranov also announced that, by decision of the government, Galia Dimitrova was appointed Director of the National Revenue Agency. She has 22 years of experience in revenue administration, she was manager of several NRA units. From 2013 to date, she worked as a Deputy Executive Director of NRA.
“I hope that with this team we will be able to achieve even better results in the fight against smuggling and fraud which led to budget losses," the finance minister said.
