Interior Ministry Says No Imminent Terror Threat to Bulgaria at the Moment

Police have taken all security measures for the celebrations on 24th of May, the chief secretary of the Ministry of Interior Mladen Marinov said on 23rd of May following the fatal terrorist attack in Manchester, the UK.

Police have taken all security measures for the celebrations on 24th of May, the chief secretary of the Ministry of Interior Mladen Marinov said on 23rd of May following the fatal teroriost attck in Manchester, the UK. Strenghtened security at mass events remains in place, he added. Marinov reminded that there is no imminent threat of terror attack to our country at present, but the services remain in the state of readiness "yellow".

A meeting of the National Operational Staff headed by Interior Minister Valentin Radev was held at the Ministry of Interior.

Risk analysis and assessment has been prepared, including threat assessment of a terrorist act based on report by the services. The assessment is that there is no imminent threat to our country at the moment.

Measures have been taken to ensure strengthened police presence at places visited by large numbers of people.
