There are 23 bathing areas in the coastal city of Varna and the region, with seawater samples taken twice a month for checks of the water quality. The results of the inspections of the Regional Health Inspectorate at the beginning of the summer season show that the sea water at all beaches in Varna is clean.
The seawater at one of the most problematic beaches in the past, Officers' Beach, is of good quality and bathing there is safe for people. The water quality is within the required standards at all beaches in the region, which were sampled.
"The water quality of the Central, South and Asparuhovo beaches in Varna is good, and the water of Officers' Beach is of satisfactory quality. All others beaches, from Asparuhovo in the south, Golden Sands, St. Konstantin and Elena", "Kabakum", all beaches along the northern stretch of the coast have excellent water quality," said Dr. Vesselina Bozhilova from the Regional Health Inspectorate-Varna.
Now, on the beaches, there are mostly city residents who know that at the beginning of the season the water is always clean. Samples for the purity of sea water are taken only during the active summer season.
"Samples for analysis are taken twice a month. Samples are taken three times from Officers’ Beach, Central, South and Asparuhovo beaches in the city of Varna," said Dr. Vesselina Bozhilova, RHI-Varna.
