The limit on the number of medical referrals and waiting lists will be dropped, Bulgaria’s caretaker health minister Ilko Semerdzhiev said on 1st of March.
The budget of the National Health Insurance Fund has envisaged additional 270 milion BGN for the hospitals this year. The funds will be allocated under the new rules. The idea is the medical institutions to have the funds at their disposal for a three month period, instead of the one month limit.
