More than 93% of the teachers in Sofia want to teach classes in-person, results of a survey conducted among teachers in 145 municipal schools show days before the start of the new school year.
The survey was conducted at the initiative of the Deputy Mayor of Culture, Education, Sports and Youth Activities Miroslav Borsos by experts from the Education Directorate of Sofia Municipality.
Some 7,707 principals and teachers from primary, pre-secondary and secondary schools were interviewed. The aim was to show the position of principals and teachers for their readiness to work in an in-person attendance classes and online learning environment.
Over 94% of primary school teachers and 92% of teachers in 5th to 12th grades indicated that they prefer in-person attendance classes.
"31.8% of the surveyed teachers have been vaccinated, and nearly 22% were ill and recovered from COVID-19," said Deputy Mayor Miroslav Borsos.
