The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) backs presidential candidate Plamen Oresharski and his running mate Danail Papazov, MRF Chairperson Mustafa Karadayi said at a news conference on 20th of October after a meeting of the party's Central Council.
In Karadayi's words, Oresharski completely matches the profile that the MRF has outlined for the future head of State. According to MRF, the future president should be non-partisan, a convinced democrat, of a Euro-Atlantic disposition, should have the will to defend and develop democratic achievements, to work for the rule of law and to be sensitive to human rights, to be a unifier of the nation, work for the international prestige of the country and strongly defend Bulgaria’s interests as a member of EU and NATO.
