The leader of Volya party and deputy Parliament speaker Vesselin Mareshki has submitted a written consent to have his MP immunity lifted, Parliament Speaker Dimitar Glavchev said at the start of the plenary sitting on 12th of May.
The consent is in relation to the request by Bulgaria’s Chief Prosecutor, Sotir Tsatsarov, who in April asked Parliament to lift the immunity of MP Mareshki in order to start (continue) penal proceedings against him.
The Chief Prosecutor has been notified about the MP’s written consent.
On 5th of May, Bulgaria’s Parliament established an ad-hoc committee to decide on the Chief Prosecutor’s request for lifting the immunity from criminal prosecution of Volya party leader and MP Vesselin Mareshki.
