Digital assets company Nexo is suing Bulgaria for more than USD 3 billion. The claim has been submitted at the Secretariat of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) at the World Bank in Washington, in accordance with international investment protection treaties.
According to the company, the allegations have proven to be unfounded and the pre-trial proceedings have found their logical end due to the absence of any criminal wrongdoing.
Sofia City Prosecutor's Office terminated the criminal proceedings against Nexo executives Kosta Kanchev, Antoni Trenchev, Kalin Metodiev and Trayan Nikolov at the end of December 2023.
