In his first working day on 23rd of January, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev issued decrees to appoint the members of his team. It includes 12 Secretaries to the President. The administration of the President will consist of 5 councils, which will take part in the decision-making process, and 5 committees.
Radev assigned Vice-President Iliana Iotova to exercise the powers of parole, granting of Bulgarian citizenship and asylum.
Two journalists who worked with the President during the election campaign will be part of his team: Elena Yoncheva will be the press secretary of the President and Ivo Hristov will be the Chef of the Cabinet to the President.
Former Constitutional judge Prof. Emiliya Drumeva will be the legal affairs secretary. The former mayor of the village of Trud, Nikolai Koprinkov will be the advisor for internal policy and civil society.
Former Air Force colonel, Dimitar Stoyanov, will be Chief Secretary to the President. Atanas Krastin was appointed Foreign Policy Secretary, Ilia Hristozov will be the advisor on economy and investments, and Nevyanka Kaneva advisor for legal affairs.
Nadya Mladenova will be the Chef of The Cabinet of the Vice-President. It is likely that some of the advisors and secretaries to the President will be appointed as ministers in the future caretaker government.
