Having the most accurate information about CETA (the EU-Canada Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement) is very important, Bulgaria’s President Roumen Radev told journalists in response to a question in Varna on 19 July. There should be an open debate on this issue and the ratification by Bulgaria's Parliament should be done with maximum consensus, he added.
Radev was in Varna to attend the closing stage of the Breeze 2017 international naval exercise.
The agreement with Canada is an exceptionally complex and comprehensive that will have an impact on all areas of public life.
In his words, there are many questions to be answered. He added that the agreeement should be subject to a wide public debate.
Commenting the Breeze 2017 naval exercise, the President said that it was a large-scale exercise not just in terms of the number of participants, but also in terms of the broad spectrum of tasks and scenarios.
