There will be no change in the policy of the new caretaker government, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev on September 14 during the attendance of the celebration of the professional holiday of Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population".
Strengthening the state remains a top priority, the head of state said.
This caretaker government will continue to work to rehabilitate statehood and restore confidence in the institutions, for me this is important, Radev explained.
He declined to give details on whether there would be any changes in the composition of the new caretaker government and said it would become clear on September 16th, when it will be appointed after the dissolution of the Parliament.
Regarding his candidacy for the presidential elections, Rumen Radev answered:
My candidacy will be nominated according to the chronogram issued by the Central Election Commision, one has already been issued.
I will continue to support values, not parties. I will continue to support the values professed by thousands of Bulgarian socialists - freedom, solidarity, justice, the President added
Caretaker Minister of the Interior Boyko Rashkov said no talks had been held with him regarding participation in a new caretaker government and that no one had yet made a proposal to him. Rashkov hopes that the Parliament will succeed in taking away the Protection Bureau from the Chief Prosecutor, because, according to him, we have not had such a vicious structure so far.
"Is he so afraid? Why does he need protection from three places? From the Protection Bureau around the clock for him, three shifts, the National Service for Protection guard around his home, and in addition cars from 6th Regional Police station officers in Sofia around the clock patrol around the fence of Boyana residence. Nobody has allowed such a thing so far. No leader in our country can afford it, and I think this should be changed. And I think that Ivan Geshev (the chief Prosecutor) should be the initiator of such a change," Boyko Rashkov commented.
