Bulgaria’s caretaker Prime Minister Gerdzhikov allocated the area of responsibilities of the Deputy Prime Ministers, the cabinet’s press office said on 31st of January.
The Prime minister will personally coordinate the activities of the ministers of finance and foreign affairs, the state agencies “Intelligence” and “Electronic Governance” and the state agency for the Bulgarians abroad.
Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policy and Health Minister Ilko Semerdzhiev will be in charge of the coordination of the executive authorities in connection with the activities of the Ministries of the Economy; Energy; Agriculture and Food; Environment and Water; Labour and Social Policy; Education and Science; Youth and Sports; Culture and Tourism. His portfolio will include the State Agency for Metrology and Technical Surveillance; Child Protection Agency; Commodity Exchange and Wholesale Markets; the Agency for Privatization and Post-Privatization Control and the Nuclear Regulatory Agency.
Deputy Prime Minister Semerdzhiev will also coordinate activities with the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation; National Agency for Vocational Education and Training; the Commission for Communications Regulation; the National Compensation Housing Fund and the Patent Office.
The portfolio of the Deputy Prime Minister on internal order and security and defense minister Stefan Yanev will include the Ministries of Interior; Justice; Regional Development and Public Works; Transport, Information Technologies and Communications.
Deputy Prime Minister Yanev will also be assigned the coordination of the activities of the State Agency for National Security; Technical Operations; Archives; State Reserve and War-time Stocks; the State Agency for Refugees; the State Commission on Information Security and the Center for Prevention and Combating Corruption and Organized Crime.
