Citizens took to the streets in Burgas this evening,December 18, gathering outside the municipal building to send the message that the public voice can—and must—exert pressure on political processes in the country.
The protesters are calling for transparent and fair elections.
Among the key demands is the removal of Borislav Sarafov from the post of Acting Prosecutor General.
The demonstration was also sparked by the renewed placement of the state budget on the agenda. According to participants, the government has fallen and should no longer be making key decisions.

Protesters are demanding changes to the Electoral Code and the holding of fair elections with 100 per cent machine voting. Their demands also include reforms in the healthcare and judicial systems, as well as the consolidation of Bulgaria’s position as a fully European state.
Demonstrators carried placards reading “Sarafov Out”, “Machines Only”, and “Silence Will Cost Us Dearly”.
