Sofia's district prosecutor Nevena Zartova has resigned

Zartova has submitted her application for leaving the post to the Prosecutors’ College of the Supreme Judicial Council, which performs the functions of the Supreme Prosecutorial Council.

Earlier today, February 14, Sofia’s deputy district prosecutors submitted their resignations to the SJC.

The four resigned from their leadership positions and declared that they dissociate themselves from the actions of District Prosecutor Nevena Zartova.

A few days ago, Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov ordered an investigation of the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office over the scandal that emerged after the murder of Martin Bozhanov, widely known as the Notary.

Then Sarafov pointed out that the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office is one of the genesis where the pedestal of justice is crumbling.
