Stara Zagora is the best city to live in Bulgaria, according to the Darik Radio jury. On 22nd of May, the city received the largest number of points in the special criteria, which generally describe the modern people's expectations from the city where they live and work.
Some of the criteria include environmental status, investment level, job opportunities, childcare facilities, medical facilities, educational institutions, and others.
The city that won the audience vote is Bourgas (at the south Black Sea coast), which leads with over 50%. Last year's winner of the "Best City to live" Award, Sofia, won two awards - the Business City of the Year Award and the Digital City Award.
The other awards in the various categories are as follows: Green city – Dobrich; Art town – Plovdiv; City of Knowledge – Varna; City Preserving Old Tradition - Nessebar, Euro city and small euro town - Pleven and Primorsko, City of Financial Sustainability - Bansko, City of Investment - Dimitrovgrad.
