They were alleged in involvement in an organized criminal group for taking bribes.
On 12th of January, Varna police and police officers from the Directorate for Combating Organised Crime conducted an operation, identifying a corruption scheme in Varna–West Customs Office in Bulgaria’s Black Sea Coastal city of Varna. A total of 25 customs officers were detained during the operation, but the specialised court ruled to keep 5 of them in custody. 700,000 BGN were seized during the operation.
