On Monday, "We Continue the Change" will return the second government-forming mandate offered to them by President Rumen Radev. The mandate will be returned unfulfilled.
President Rumen Radev handed the second government-forming mandate to "We Continue the Change"
On 9 January at 10.00, the President will receive the “We Continue the Change” candidate for Prime Minister, Nikolai Denkov, the press office of the Presidency said.
Today, the Parliament rejected the party's declaration of governing priorities without any debate. GERB-UDF and "Vazrazhdane" voted against the text. MRF, BSP and "Bulgaria Ascending” abstained. The declaration was supported only by “We Continue the Change” and "Democratic Bulgaria".
Shortly after the vote in the chamber, President Rumen Radev commented that he would announce his decision on the third mandate in due time. The head of state also said that the Parliament was engaged in election talk rather than dealing with the important laws that should be adopted.
Commenting the return of the second mandate, Vice President iliana Iotova said:
"Constitutional procedure follows. The President has seven days after the formal return of the mandate to hand over the third mandate to one of the remaining parliamentary groups. Elections look increasingly likely and the chance of a government increasingly slim," Iotova stressed.

If the second largest parliamentary group fails to present a cabinet, the President assigns a mandate to a third parliamentary group. In the third attempt, the President has the right to decide to which parliamentary group to hand over the mandate, it can be any - the third political power or the smallest parliamentary group.
