The airport in Buhovtsi, in the outskirts of Targovishte,where the plane landed, has not been used since 1993 and the runway has not been maintained. There is no indication that the plane was left in a panic. The main landing gears were locked and the landing gear was secured quite calmly by the people who left it.

Furthermore - a 360-degree view camera had been placed above the cockpit, allowing everything to be observed both in flight and on landing.

So far, the prosecutor’s office has no information about the perpetrators.

"Immediate action was taken to inspect the aircraft, having previously carried out a check for explosives, drugs, but none were found. The plane is abandoned. We have no information at this stage about the perpetrators of this act. Actions will be carried out in order to identify them. Biological materials, fingerprint traces have been seized during the inspection, forensic examinations will be appointed, we will seek international cooperation with the countries through which it flew, what information they have on this case and it will be assessed what can be used as evidence," said Dilyana Stoyanova, Targovishte district prosecutor.
