The next step on this path is to hold fair and free elections, Vassilev added
"This is a first step towards Bulgaria becoming a normal, European country. The next step on this path is to hold free and fair elections — not elections tainted by manipulation, as the last parliamentary elections were,” said Asen Vassilev from We Continue the Change.
PM Rosen Zhelyazkov: The Government Resigns
He also thanked all Bulgarian citizens who, in his words, took to the streets to tell this government that Bulgaria cannot be governed in this way.
“In this National Assembly, we will not take part in any kind of reconfiguration. From now on, Bulgaria must go to elections,” emphasised Ivaylo Mirchev.
“There has been talk about responsibility, and they are trying to shift it onto the streets and the opposition parties. The responsibility for Bulgaria going to early elections lies with those who refused to isolate Peevski, who refused to join the so-called sanitary cordon, and thereby condemned this government to complete delegitimisation,” added Bozhidar Bozhanov.
