Beneficiaries under the Interreg-IPA Bulgaria-Turkey Cross-border Cooperation Programme, financed by the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) 2014-2020, received their grant financial assistance contracts at a ceremony at Bulgaria's Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, the Ministry said on 21st of March.
A total of 33 projects has been approved for financing under the first call for proposals.
The Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Head of the Managing Authority of the programme Valentina Varbeva highlighted that interest in it was very high. 195 project proposals were received in the first call at a total amount of 11 mln. Euros. The approved projects are aimed at various areas in the two priority axis – environment and tourism.
The 33 subsidy contracts are at a total amount of 8,268,467 euros. 14 of them, amounting to 4,752, 968.07 euros are for projects under Priority Axis 1 "Environment" and 19 contracts totaling 3,515, 499.49 euros under Priority Axis 2 should contribute to making tourism in the region sustainable. 25 projects are with leading partners from Bulgaria and 8 with leading partners from Turkey.
