Out of 54 samples tested at the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD), the Delta variant of Covid-19 was identified in 52.
The samples were taken from Covid-19 patients from medical establishments in 11 districts in the country.
All 12 samples from Sofia are positive for the Delta variant.
Most of the infected are undergoing treatment at home. 13 were admiited to hospital. 5 people have recovered. One person died.
