Acad. Nikolay Vitanov and Tanya Mihaylova have been appointed Deputy Ministers of Education

Bulgaria’s caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev appointed Tanya Mihaylova and Acad. Prof. Nikolay Vitanov as Deputy Ministers of Education and Science, the Government Information Service said on May 14.

Mihaylova has a long teaching career. She is currently Principal of “M.V. Lomonosov” Vocational High School of Precision Engineering and Optics in Sofia.

She was Deputy Minister of Education and Science from 2017 to 2021.

Aca. Prof. Nikolay Vitanov has been full member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences since 2021. From 2015 to 2023, he was Deputy Rector for Research and Scientific Project Activities at Sofia University “St Kliment Ohridski”. His research interests are in quantum informatics, quantum mechanics, quantum optics, computers, sensors, etc.
