The face of the statue has been unearthed last. Because of its size and weight of nearly a tonne, the process of packing of the valuable sculpture proved to be quite complicated. It took six days, a special crate, a crane and a lot of luck to get it out.

The head of the excavation team, Prof. Dr. Ludmil Vagalinski, hinted that after being able to see the statue in person today, it turned out that it was most likely not the god Hermes, but a deified ruler. It is yet to be determined who exactly.
