It was first celebrated on 14th of May in 2005 and was organized by the World Hypertension League.
According to the statistics, around 3 out of ten people are suffering from hypertension worldwide.
Nearly two and a half million people in Bulgaria suffer from high blood pressure. Because of the alarming figure, a prevention campaign is taking place in 11 Bulgarian cities the World Hypertention Day. Everyone willing to measure their blood pressure can do it free of charge in special health kiosks.
