“Our resignation was a moral act and the preliminary results of the elections reaffirmed that GERB should be a leading party in the governance," Boyko Borisov, the leader of the centre-right GERB said speaking after the exit polls showed that his party received most of the votes in 26th of March early parliamentary elections.
He added that GERB was obliged to form a government, but was waiting for the final results of the elections to say how it would be formed.
“We will put a lot of efforts, but with little compromise, not like the last time. It is important, however, to see the final results of the elections, so that in talks with potential partners, to quickly form a government," he said.
He congratulated all voters and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).
Boyko Borisov: “I want to thank all the Bulgarians who participated in these elections, not only our supporters, but everyone who supported the other parties. “Among us there was a worthy opponent, and I want to congratulate my colleagues from BSP for the serious battle."
