Bulgarian Parliament approved on 2nd of June at second reading the amendments to the road traffic act envisaging the removal of signs that warn drivers for speed cameras on the road.
In order to ensure road safety and to stop the administrative violations, the law provides for measures that temporarily suspend the movement of the vehicle for a month if the owner who allowed or granted the vehicle for driving to a person who has used alcohol with a blood concentration of more than 0.5 per thousand, narcotic substances or their analogues.
The amendments also provide for termination of the registration of a vehicle if the owner drives it without having the relevant driving license and/or has used alcohol above the legal limit and/or narcotic substances. Same measure will be applied if the driver refuses a check or does not fulfill the prescribed medical test for concentration of alcohol in the blood and/or for use of narcotic substances.
The law envisages withdrawal of the driving license for a period of 6 months of car owner, whose vehicle is driven by unlicensed driver.
