Growth in Bulgaria’s food industry is reported for the recent 8 months of 2016 in comparison with same period in 2015, data of Bulgaria’s ministry of agriculture shows. There is data, that this trend will continue until the ned of 2016 and in the next year. At the beginning of the autumn, a growth in production of a number of agricultural crops, and the wheat production was at record high level.
On 11th of November, the minister of agriculture, Dessislava Taneva said in the BNT morning progarmme that there was a trend of growth in the Bulgarian agriculture in the recent years in separate productions, and trend of diversification of the production, which was very important and the goal in the political programme of the government. She said that the policies of supporting small and medium-sized companies would go on in the sectors of fruit and vegetables production and livestock, as well as markets. This year, she added, there was a many-fold increase in some vegetable crops in comparison with the previous year.
According to minister Taneva, these results show the polices followed by the ministry lead to success. She said that the campaign “I support Bulgarian products” was successful. An instrument for state support would be offered to the farmers markets. Talks are being held with the large food stores. The aim is to achieve better access of the Bulgarian producers to the consumer markets.
