BULGARIA’S CARETAKER JUSTICE MINISTER MARIA PAVLOVA OPENS A CONFERENCE ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM

Bulgaria’s caretaker justice minister Maria Pavlova will host a conference on 14th of March on the topic of “Effectiveness of the Judicial System”, The forum will be attended by the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the preparation for Bulgaria’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, Denittsa Zlateva. A report on the implementation of the updated strategy for continuing the reforms in the judicial system and the progress in its implementation will be presented and discussed during the conference.

Meanwhile, the College of Judges of the Supreme Judicial Council will hold its regular meeting. The agenda of the Magistrates will include a proposal for hearing the opinion of the chair of the Supreme Court of Cassation, Lozan Panov, following an inspection in the specialized Appellate Criminal Court. The inspection was initiated in relation to the assignment of the team of judges to the case of the mayor of Galiche, Tsenko Chokov and his son.
