Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission (CEC) deleted the registration of four MP candidates. The decision was published on CEC website on 28th of February. It was based on results of a check by the Civil Registration and Administrative Servicing Directorate, which identified that the four candidates had foreign citizenships in addition to the Bulgarian ones and therefore their registration as MP candidates was deleted.
The deleted registrations include:
Vesselina Yankova Kotavova, registered as a candidate in second electoral district of the city of Bourgas, from "Bulgarian National Unification" party;
Denislav Valeriev Orlov, registered as a candidate in the ninth electoral district of Kardzhali, nominated by coalition ÄBC – Movement 21”;
Stoyanka ilieva Bakopulu, registered as candidate in fifteenth electoral district of Pleven, nominated by coalition “WHO – Bulgarian Left and Green Party”;
Mihail Plamenov Kosev, registered as a candidate in sixteenth electoral district of Plovdiv, nominated by coalition “Movement for Bulgaria”.
The CEC’s decision is subject to appeal before the Supreme Administrative Court within a three-day term, starting from the day its announcement.
