For the time being, the Bulgarian caretaker government is not going to nominate a new EU Commissioner, but might do at a later stage, the caretaker Prime Minister Ognyan Gerdzhikov said on 21st of February in response to a journalist’s question about whether there was a consensus between him and the President regarding whether caretaker government or regular government after the March 26 early general elections should appoint the new Bulgarian EU Commissioner.
When asked by reporters at what "later stage" a commissioner might be nominated, Gerdjikov said that it would depend on the circumstances.
