Chain-reaction crash has disrupted the traffic through the Pass of the Republic on 9th of November. Two people were seriously injured and taken to the hospital in the city of Veliko Turnovo, central Bulgaria. Currently, their condition is stable.
The chain crash occurred about 6 o’çlock in the morning when a TIR lorry entered into a sharp turn with a very high speed. The driver lost control over the vehicle and it crashed into a rocky slope near the road. Consequently, because of difficulties in the traffic, four more cars lost control and smashed into the lorry.
Traffic in the area of the accident is disrupted. Vehicles are allowed only in one of the lanes. It is raining in the region of the Pass. Traffic police warn drivers to take extra care because of the hazardous weather.
