Bulgarian State Railways company (BDZ) announced on September 27 that it will launch a direct train service on the Sofia-Rousse-Sofia route. The change will be introduced on October 1 and aims to improve service for passengers travelling between the two cities.
Four of the recently delivered refurbished German carriages will be used for the train operation on that route.

The new service will be subject to a one-month evaluation to assess the real need and effectiveness of running a direct service between Sofia and Rousse.
Tickets can be purchased online or at stations, with a 20% discount for return tickets.
