Eco-protest against changes to the Law on Protection of Agricultural Lands will take place on 16th of May outside Bulgaria’s Parliament.
The protest is against a bill submitted by the ruling GERB and the United Patriots that envisages extension of the 3 year period for construction in agricultural land with changed purposes on the Bulgarian seaside.
The minister of environment and Waters, Neno Dimov, commented that the real solution to the problem with excessive building in agricultural land on the seaside is to adopt a land-use plans which will specifically outline the buildable lands and who and where can build.
