Bulgarians who want a Covid-19 vaccine will be able to put their names in an electronic register, which is being developed and is expected to be ready by the end of February, Bulgaria’s Health Minister Kostadin Angelov said at a working meeting convened by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on February 1.
The electronic register is developed by the ministry together with the state-owned “Informatsionno Obsluzhvane” IT company. The aim of the project is to allow Bulgarian nationals who want to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to fill in their details and choose whether to get the vaccine at their general practitioner doctor or at a medical facility.
The register would simplify the logistics of those willing to be vaccinated.
“We expect this project to be completed by the end of February, so that we are ready to begin working with the system at the beginning of March,” Angelov said.
He added that the situation in the country remains under control and an extremely good trend is that the number of recoveries is ten times higher than the new cases.
Angelov also confirmed that this week he will submit changes in the vaccination plan for consideration by the Council of Ministers. Thus, the election administration will be included in the third phase of immunization, which is planned to run in parallel with the second phase.
