French President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Bulgaria on 24th of August. The visit is part of his tour of Central and Eastern Europe.
This is the first visit of a French head of state since 2007, when Nicolas Sarkozy visited Bulgaria. President Macron's visit is interpreted as a sign that Paris does not want division between the countreis from the North and the South of Europe, or between the West and the East.
The coastal city of Varna is preparing for the upcoming visit of the French President and his wife. They will be accommodated in the Evksinograd government residence, where the meetings of the French Head of State with the Bulgarian President Roumen Radev and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will take place on 25th of August.
The topics to be discussed will include the relations between Bulgaria and France in economic and cultural aspect. The focus of the talks will be the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union as well as the plans for our country's accession to the Schengen zone.
Macron seeks support to combat so-called "social dumping" of cheap labour or differences in payments to posted workers.
