Little Lidia Ganeva will represent Bulgaria in this year's edition of the Junior Eurovision song contest. On the stage at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Malta's capital Valletta, she will perform "Magical Day" - a song by Vladi Ampov – Grafa. who wtore the lyrics together with Ilya Grigorov.
17 countries - Australia, Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Cyprus, Macedonia, Malta, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine and the Netherlands have confirmed participation in the contest. The concert will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre Malta, located in the heart of Malta’s ancient capital Valletta.
This year, the junior Eurovision song contest will be introducing changes in the voting system. The Maltese broadcaster TVM and the EBU revealed that the televote will be removed in favour of professional and kids juries. The jury, which will determine the winner of this year’s contest, will consist of both an adult jury composed of five members and a separate children’s jury, also composed of five members, from each country.
In addition to the usual adult and kid’s juries, this year there will also be a panel of three expert judges.
Voting will consist of a 50/50 split between a professional jury and a kids jury.
The rule changes also include an early start time. The show will start at 17:00 on 20th of November with a duration of 150 minutes.
Bulgarian singer Poli Genova, who was voted in the 4th place in the 2016 Eurovision song contest with the entry “If Love was a Crime”, will be giving a spectacle during the interval on the final night.
