Digitalisation is opening up new dimensions in the economy and Bulgaria and Oman can play an essential role in digital connectivity and ensuring its security between Europe, Asia and the Middle East, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting on September 25 in New York with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi on the sidelines of his participation in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
The Head of State highlighted the opportunity for Oman to invest in the development of digital infrastructure in Bulgaria. The President highlighted the huge potential for the development of bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Oman in a number of promising areas, such as high technologies, the construction of large data centres and energy, to which the exchanged visits of the energy ministers of the two countries contribute significantly.
The potential of the partnership in the economy, culture and sports were also highlighted during the meeting.
President Radev thanked Oman for its support in the negotiations for the release of the captain and mate of the ‘Galaxy Leader’ ship, taken hostage off the coast of Yemen.
