On 27th of April, Bulgaria’s President Roumen Radev handed a mandate to GERB leader Boyko Borissov to form a government.
Boyko Borissov is a candidate for Prime Minister nominated by the largest parliamentary group in the 44th National Assembly - GERB. Within a week, he has to present the structure and composition of his cabinet or return the mandate. Boyko Borissov was proposed to the President by Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Chair of GERB’s Parlamentary Group.
Upon handing over the mandate to Borissov, President Radev said he hoped the new cabinet would meet the expectations of the people for security, justice, income. “I wish you every success,“ President Radev said.
According to the Bulgarian Constitution, Borissov has a deadline of seven days to present the structure and composition of his cabinet, or return the mandate to the President.
