Rumen Radev, standing as independent and backed by the Bulgarian Socialist Party with 27.50% of the votes and the candidate of the centre-right GERB, Tsetska Tsacheva with 22.0% will go to the second round of Bulgaria’s Presidential elections, data after 95.17 % ballot count shows on 7th of November.
General Radev won the largest share of votes in 20 districts in Bulgaria. Tsetska Tsacheva and the candidate backed by the Movement for rights and Freedoms, Plamen Oresharski won the largest share of votes in 3 districts, while Krasimir Karakachanov (United Patriots) and the businessman Vesselin Mareshki lead in 1 district. However, Tsacheva leads by almost 10% in the vote abroad, where she was backed by 25.37% of the Bulgarian voters.
The results of the other candidates who win over 1% of the votes are as follows:
Krassimir Karakachanov (United Patriots) 15.04%;
Vesselin Mareshki (nomination committee) 10.87%;
Traicho Traikov (Reformist Bloc) 5.87%;
Plamen Oresharski (nomination committee backed by Movement for Rights and Freedoms) 6.51%;
Ivaylo Kalfin (socialist breakaway ABC party) 3.30%;
"None of the above" option - 5.56%.
The former air force commander general Rumen Radev and the current Speaker of Parliament Tsetska Tsacheva will go to the runoff, which will be held on 13th of November.
