Sofia Vladimirova is the new Chairperson of the Council for Electronic Media. She was elected on 9th of May. The term of office is for one year.
Four of the five members of the media regulator voted to support Vladimirova.
Initially, the applicants were two: Sofia Vladimirova and Rosita Elenova, who, however, quit the race.
Sofia Vladimirova graduated from the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski "with a Master's degree in Journalism.
She started her career at the Bulgarian National Radio, Hristo Botev Programme.
She was a reporter and screenwriter for more than 10 years and was involved in the creative processes for the preparation and creation of many hit TV productions, including “Clash”, “Top 10”, “Music Idol”, “Commerical Break” and others.
From September 2009 to April 2010, she was Director of the Directorate for Information, Public Relations and European Communication at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From April 2010 to July 2013, she was a member of the Council for Electronic Media, elected by the National Assembly. Her second term of office as a member of CEM from the Parliamentary quota started in April 2016.
