A 79-year-old woman from Asenovgrad was killed last night, December 17, in a serious road traffic incident on Trakia Motorway.
The accident occurred between the 68th and 69th kilometre markers of the motorway, in the carriageway heading towards Burgas.
According to initial information, the woman, who was a pedestrian, was struck successively by several motor vehicles, including heavy goods vehicles.
Because of the severity of her injuries, the victim’s identity could not be established immediately. The investigation is expected to clarify how and under what circumstances the woman came to be on the road.
Work on the case is continuing under the supervision of the Pazardzhik Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
