During this year’s research in the prehistoric salt production and urban center ‘Solnitsata’ (Saltworks) near the coastal town of Provadia, archaeologists discovered a pit full of ritual objects. They found a zoomorphic ceramic vessel in the shape of a recumbent bull, which is of extremely precise workmanship and one of the most beautiful found in the country. The excavated pit dates back more than 6,300 years.
Scientists continue to uncover and explore the houses in the prehistoric settlement, as well as the preserved part of the Thracian ruler's house, erected on it in later centuries.
