The Ministry of Interior has taken action to obtain all information regarding the murder of Krassimir Kamenov - Kuro, his wife and two other persons in South Africa. At the moment, the Ministry of Interior is in communication with the authorities in South Africa and has been assured that Bulgarian representative will be allowed to go to the site and familiarise himself with the situation and the progress of the investigation. We have been assured that we will receive all the information concerning this investigation, Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Interior, Ivan Demerdzhiev, told journalists.

Wanted by Interpol Bulgarian Krasimir Kamenov-Kuro and his wife murdered in their home in South Africa

Who is the Bulgarian Krasimir Kamenov – Kuro, murdered in Cape Town, South Africa?

In 2018, there was a similar murder of a Bulgarian citizen in South Africa and his wife. The Ministry of Interior will do everything possible to establish connections between the recent murder and previous events, Demerdzhiev said. In this regard, the efforts of all services have been united and are being actively worked on. By order of the Chief Secretary, a nationwide operation is underway targeting members of the criminal world capable of committing serious crimes. The aim is to establish the links and the reasons that led to this crime, to find the perpetrators and the persons who ordered the murder.

Demerdzhiev recalled that the politicians and magistrates who are now at war, but used to be friends and then they had a common enemy who was called Krasimir Kamenov - Kuro. He was put on an interstate wanted list, but regrettably was not apprehended, although the Ministry of Interior notified South African authorities of his whereabouts, the minister said.

“These people owe an explanation, no longer as friends but as enemies, as to how and why this man, referred to as their common enemy, happened to be killed. It is incorrect to seek that explanation elsewhere," Demerdzhiev said.

Regarding the information put forward by WCC about illegally wiretapping by the security services, Demerdzhiev said he hoped the Ministry of Interior was not being referred to. He said the Ministry of Interior did not dare to eavesdrop, record or monitor anyone illegally. Nor would it allow itself to do so.

"The Ministry of Interior only investigates criminals when there is sufficient evidence of a crime. Unfortunately, sometimes these people turn out to have other jobs and public qualities," he said.

Demerdzhiev concluded that the Ministry of Interior would not participate in wars between representatives of individual institutions and take sides, nor in wars between politicians and representatives of other institutions.
