The parliamentary group of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) nominated Maya Manolova for the post of Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, said the deputy chair of the parliamentary group of BSP and spokesperson of the BSP National Council, Atanas Merdzhanov, on 15th of July.

Merdzhanov highlighted that Manolova had a significant contribution to the work of Bulgaria’s Parliament, both as an MP from her constituency and as a Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly. He stressed that her persona would gain the trust and the confidence of the public and non-government organizations in protecting their interests. It is an honour for the parliamentary group of the BSP and we are proud of our candidate, Merdhznov added.
He said he expected other parliamentary groups to also support the nomination.
