President Rumen Radev has sent a letter of condolences to US President Joe Biden over the devastating wildfires that have caused the loss of many human lives and significant damage on the island of Maui, Hawaii, Radev's press secretariat reported on Friday, August 18.
Radev expresses sympathy and condolences on his and the Bulgarian people's behalf to the relatives and families of the victims. He wishes quick recovery to the injured and overcoming of the damages caused by the natural disaster soon.
The wildfires in Hawaii began in early August. More than 100 people have died, state Governor Josh Green announced days ago. Thousands are missing. The town of Lahaina, on the west coast of Maui, was almost completely consumed by the flames. Thousands of buildings there burned.
