Voter turnout at 16.00 in Bulgaria’s April 2 early parliamentary elections stands at 27.27%, the Central Election Commission announced.
The highest turnout has been registered in 23rd constituency in Sofia - 34.59% and the lowest was in Sliven – 21.99%.
The election day has been calm so far, but problems with the voting machines continue. There are more than 80 machines for which the CEC has received information that machine voting has been suspended and only paper ballots are used.
For some of the machines, the reason is that they print a blank paper ballot, paper with no content or with partial content that cannot identify how the voter voted, so voting with these machines is also being suspended.
As of 16:20, there are two complaints and 67 alerts that have been processed. Most of them are about CEC members continuing not to stamp the machine ballots. Despite the lack of a stamp on the machine ballots, the votes from them will be counted, deputy head and spokesperson of CEC, Rositsa Mateva, said.
Voting abroad has been completed in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, China and Singapore. Protocols have been submitted and processed at the CEC.
At the latest - at 18:00 voting will start on the west coast of the USA - Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, as well as in Canada - Vancouver and Calgary.
