Coronavirus in Bulgaria: New surge of Covid-19 cases reported over the past 24 hours

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 143 from 1,637 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on September 20, 2023.

Test positivity rate is 8,7%.

The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 1,351,211.

The active cases are 2,267.

Of the total, 201 patients are in hospitals, 12 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

• 178 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 1,271,626 ;
• 24 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, 4,613,826;
• 1 Covid-19 related death, bringing the total Covid-19 –related deaths to 38,459;

Of the daily cases, 56,64% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 100% had not been vaccinated.

There were 34 new hospitalisations, of which 67,65% had not been vaccinated.
