Measures against the spread of the coronavirus in the capital Sofia remain unchanged, said Sofia Regional Governor Ivan Kyuchukov on February 2. According to him, the restrictions that have been introduced so far are working. He stressed that in one week there are only 6,000 vaccinated in our country and called on people to take vaccination more seriously.
Regarding the possible revocation of green certificates in the country, the regional governor clarified that this would happen only when the vaccinated population reaches more than 60% or only when 5% of the beds in hospitals are occupied. So far, however, neither have been achieved, he added.
At this stage, there is no need to open extra beds in Sofia. Kyuchukov noted that to date, there are 24 doctors infected with the virus.
As for the students, they will continue their education according to the issued order at the moment. Primary school students will return to in-person attendance classes, and where there is rotation, it will continue. If the results are good next week, the children will be able to return to in-person clases, Kyuchukov added.
The pplice will continue the checks on compliance with existing measures, Kyuchukov assured and addressed the people who choose to have fun in nightclubs:
"There's plenty of time to do that. These two weeks, perhaps, are very important and very responsible for the spread of this virus. If we can really suppress it, believe me, you will have many reasons to have fun after that. "
Last week, 857 catering establishments were inspected, 64 penalty tickets and 2 notices were issued, Kyuchukov added.
